9-2-2012 NHL All-Star Skill Competitions
The annual All-Star event kicked off today with the skill competitions. Team North America and Team World competed in six different races and the fans got to see their stars shine.
Team World won the puck control relay with a team of Alexander Ovechkin, Marian Gaborik and Ilya Kovalchuk.
Marian Gaborik of Team World won the fastest skater competition, beating Duncan Keith in the final.
Rick Nash of Team North America won the hardest shot competition with a result of 89 MPH, beating Olli Jokinen in the final.
Sidney Crosby of Team North America won the accuracy shooting competition, beating Alexander Ovechkin in the final.
Tim Thomas of Team North America won the goalie competition (pass&score), beating Tuukka Rask in the final.
Team North America won the breakaway relay with a team of Sidney Crosby, Mike Green and Corey Perry.
The yearly clash between Team North America and Team World will take place tomorrow.
